Nicole Zaray is a multidisciplinary artist, using vocals and movement, sound and video within her theatrical and mixed-media performances. She spent childhood years in the Lower East Side and East Harlem, and grew up in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Her solo performance work has been presented  at Performance Space NY, La Mama, Roulette, The Firehouse Space, Spectrum, the Bushwick Music Series, and more. Nicole has also performed internationally; she has taught movement and performance at Centro Em Movimento in Lisboa, Portugal, has performed at the artist residency “Kopanice bez Hranice” in Slovakia, and at Lake Studio in Berlin. Her credits also include: featured vocalist on Moby’s CDs “Feeling So Real” and “Next is the E” (Mute/Elektra), vocalist / dancer in Theodora Skipitares’ “Under the Knife” and Karen Finley’s “Momento Mori”, and lead in the sci-fi flick “The Sticky Fingers of Time” which premiered at the Venice Biennale and was released worldwide.  Nicole also runs a social enterprise, offering services in policy and technology to community-based housing and mental health organizations. In 2023, she has plans to develop new work at the UnCOOL Festival in Poschiavo, Switzerland, home of the Sun Ra Arkestra.
